The Transparencies: Dec. 9, 1995.

.

A playlist from arguably the best Transparencies concert ever (or thus far?): Dec. 9, 1995 at a coffeehouse put on by the Redwood Church young adults. It includes numerous songs performed by the whole band. Then I did a solo set. The band rejoined me for 2 more songs, followed by a medley of praise/Christmas songs. Our unrequested encore was an acappella version of my song "Benediction".

Especially the band songs show me how much 80s Daniel Amos & Steve Taylor influenced me, not so much in giving the idea of being satirical, but, I suppose, in giving me "permission" to be so.

Note that these are transfers from the original 88mm video tapes. You might notice that the first number of songs come through only the left channel. Eventually I figured out how to fix that, and at this point have not redone the earlier songs. It also appears to me that the resolution of some the videos is worse (or better) than others & I don't know why, since AFAIK I didn't change any of the settings.

Transferred from VHS March 2, 2012. The closing song from a coffee house at which we were featured in the basement of the old Redwood Alliance building.
