National Aboriginal Day: June 21/10

.

CBC's "The Great Northwest" did a remote broadcast from Chippewa Park & so (as usual) I dropped in, & had some free food. Note Iain Angus taking pix.

Cambrian Players BBQ: June 19/10

.
Thank you, Bryan, for hosting this BBQ, Quelf game and campfire sing-a-long. We didn't hot-tub, as it just wouldn't be the same without Sara nearly drowning herself.

I don't remember all the songs I led but they included "Those Were the Days", "Let It Be" and "All I Want Is You" (my version found here).

Bryan and Kaela also performed some of their Bliss Express stuff. Then we closed the evening listening to Flight of the Conchords and The Axis of Awesome.

Cambrian Improvers @ Relay For Life: June 18/10

.

We didn't really have a space to perform and so we just did bizarre things (including the invisible limbo bar pictured below) beside the track where the participants were walking.

I lost the first pic somehow: one of our members was holding a sign that said "Topless dude wants to...".

Walking like an Egyptian inspired by the song playing at the time. Guess which one.

Picnic @ Centennial Park; June 13/10

.

It was sprinkling when we arrived, and so we ate inside the Chalet. The weather cleared enough afterwards to allow for some frisbee tossing, playground fun and visiting the farm animals.

Bishop was less interested in eatingthan in running outside to play!

Kristian's throw to Papa had good velocity, but his aim was off a bit.

Entertaining @ Chartwell: June 13/10

.

Originally some of us from Cambrian Players were going to perform a Dinner Theatre Murder Mystery for the residents of the Chartwell Retirement Home on Arundel St. For various reasons, it morphed into a variety show over dinner. In addition to the acts pictured below, I sang three hymns.

The songs performed by Will and Bliss Express (Kaela & Bryan) were oldies from the 50's & 60's which were very well received. "It brought me right back!" one lady commented.
