Annual Mtg of Our Tolkien Appreciation Group: March 25/11

Held at the Ruby Moon Restaurant, with a much larger turnout than the previous few years, including friends of mine from Manitoba Pioneer Camp and Camp Gitchigomee.

The "art" I am holding up was done in high school, when I was obsessed with LOTR.

The Gollum figure was given to my Dad as a gift and passed on to me. He always comes along with me to these mtgs.

"Try It - You Might Like It": Mar. 23/11

Though advertised as a session of weight-training, the instructor was careful to clarify that this was more a matter of strength-training. I can't exactly remember the difference, but we didn't use weights (much) for one thing.

This was part of Mary Jean Cormier's CBC radio series related to the Live Right Now Campaign.

I spelled Jesus in red Lego. K and B copied it in white. K also made the object at the top, which I think he said was a camera.

Birthday with Family: Mar. 15/11

I almost always celebrate my birthday along with my niece, Devha, whose takes place near mine.

Guest Facilitator @ Cambrian Improv: Mar. 13/11

It had to be done.

Peter Stevens was our guest facilitator for several weeks. He is a very experienced improv actor, who performs regularly in Toronto. He gave us a lot to think about and work on! Pictured above is his improvisation of being pleased with his thank you gift.

Sharing: Mar. 13/11

We were learning about sharing and so I let K have his own Lego base and bricks in order to build a house. However, his better idea of sharing was to help me build my house, which became a jail for his Lego man.



He seems to have become fond of this pose for pictures!

Transparencies' Gig: Mar. 12/11

.
Robin Harbron, Darren Foulds and I (The Transparencies) played a number of Lost Dogs tunes for the guys at the John Howard Society as part of a program which FW Baptist runs, involving supper, music, a testimony & Bingo!!

Of course, I didn't take pictures which might include any of the residents, but here's one of Robin taken as we were leaving:

Paul Henderson's Jersey: Mar. 10/11

.

I was in the home ec room of KInsgway Park School watching the game with my whole class when Paul Henderson scored the series winning goal in Sept. 1972.

Paul's jersey was taken on tour, and when it arrived in Thunder Bay, I was among the first who lined up to view it. Thus I was awarded a red scarf (a very nice one) and a badge.
