Deer at LU: Oct. 31/11

On Mondays (my day off) I often go to LU in order to run into some of the many people I know who study or work there (or neither). On this occasion I also spotted some of our urban deer just as I was leaving the campus.



First a doe crossed the path, leading me to think, "I bet there is another deer nearby." This is always a good thing to think when a deer successfully dashes across the highway in front of you.


And yes, there was a buck left behind on the other side of the path. As I moved in to take pictures, he decided to abandon his female friend and run off in the other direction.

Hallowe'en 2011

Heading to my office to work for the evening of Hallowe'en, I spotted K just starting to go trick-or-treating. I was not surprised to see that he had chosen a Star Wars costume!

"Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"

Remember not to bother with doors that are locked.

Prospector Burger Barn: October 2011

Various businesses have come and gone at this location near my home. Prospector Burger Barn lasted a couple of years (I think) successfully. In fact, it was so successful that it moved to a bigger location. Boo.

Stefanie ("Ariel" in The Tempest) worked there, and often brought soft freshly baked buns to rehearsal.

The kids drew items for which they were thankful. In almost all cases this was pumpkin pie.

Thunderwolves Hockey: Oct. 7 & 8/11

I won LU Thunderwolves tickets from CBC Radio One. Because there were only a few who entered, they gave me tickets for both Friday & Saturday's games (against the McGill Redmen).

On Friday I spotted Kevin Pollock in the ticket line & so he got my 2nd ticket. I couldn't find anyone for the 2nd game. Wolfie already had a ticket.


McGill won both games.
