TV Commercial audition

New experience today: I auditioned up on "the Hill" (Dougallmedia) for a TV commercial -- as a used car salesman for ----- Marostica Motors!! MM is where I just bought my Hyundai (though new), but the connection was through Cambrian Players (the woman in the commercial out searching for hidden rocks, who is also on the Cambrian board).

It's a "don't call us; we'll call you" situation.

BTW the TBT newsroom where Lindsay ("Mrs. Fron") and Barry sit is *very* small. The weather bluescreen is right next to their desk and the tiny sports corner with stool is opposite them but to one side and also very close.

Just before going in, I spotted Tony outside his black and red house. We chatted for a bit, but didn't get into any profanity.

Stupid cars!

New car; no repair bills, right?

Two days ago (the all-day rainy day) I went out to discover I had a nail in my tire. So, I put the "donut" on (in the rain, obviously).

Got the tire fixed yday. $32 (not covered by warranty). That's an average of $4.57/day (have owned it a week). That's $137/month at this current rate!

(Okay, so maybe this should really be titled "Stupid nails!")

This was at the airport on Saturday seeing my Mum off to England. I am posing with my niblings Robin and Greg. Those of you who know me will know the significance of this picture.

Leaders Camp (Labour Day Wknd)

More pics at my Sept. web page.

Well, despite the re-aggravation due to a tackle by Mark EikelBOOM! of my 2004 Leaders Camp Mucketball injury (bruised ribs), I am glad I went with the Frontline and LUCF students and their staff (Annika & Paul) to Leaders Camp at Manitoba Pioneer Camp.

An inspiring story: While I was driving the Frontline girls home, Kayla asked if we could go past Westgate and pray for that school. Another girl (sorry, I forget which) said, "Hey! I was just about to say that!" So the 4 girls and I did stop in the parking lot and pray for a school which for a long time (and that's a "long time" even in my terms) has not had a very active ISCF or Frontline. I am impressed that these girls think this way -- despite their probably being tired and eager to get home.
