At the end of the movie the couple behind me:
1 - "That was a shitty ending."
2 - "Well, you knew what was going to happen, didn't you?"
1 - "No, I thought they were going to live."
2 - "It's a true story."
1 - "It is!?"
(These were adults.)

That reminds me of the person in front of me at Fellowship of the Ring who exclaimed "that's it? It's over?"
"...and they'd rather hear you use the word poo... rather than than... shomething in Anglo-Saxon..."
Actually, I told this story uneditted last night at St. Luke's to "little old ladies" painting award logs for Camp Gitchigomee.
I hadn't read the comments on this blog entry yet, but I had wanted to tell you that I've had that song going through my head ever since I first read it...
What was especially funny (to me) was that I taught about William the Conqueror today and came very close to bursting into song several times (but resisted because my kids don't know those particular Anglo Saxon words yet and, quite frankly, I'm enjoying that fact).
Now as I came to share that I realized Robin quoted from Anglo-Saxon already.
What do they say about great minds again?
