I drove to St. Pierre-Jolys without incident on Fri. Mar. 13, leaving about 0945 & arriving at Pete & Cindy's about 1730 (EDT), and had supper there. That evening we watched international baseball.
The next day was Spring Celebration for Manitoba Pioneer Camp at Canadian Mennonite University, a fundraiser the Jesse's Place, staff housing in memory of Jesse Matties (one of my first MPC campers), featuring Steve Bell. I rode with Pete, and helped inflate & put up a few balloons to qualify for my pizza.
Sunday I went into Winnipeg to go to church with St. Margaret's Anglican, followed by lunch with Shirley and Joy. In the evening Pete, Cindy & I watched "The Bombardment".
Monday, March 16: Herb, Pete, and I travelled to Shoal Lake to check out some things at camp, and other places, including lunch at Herb's camp. We travelled on ice roads!
Tuesday morning while P & C were out, I watched Ep 1 of Get Back. Then I headed home c. noon.
In Dryden at the Husky/Esso after filling up and parking my vehicle, the wheels would not turn when I put it in gear, and there was a horrible noise. CAA (Josh Loewen) towed me to Canadian Tire two doors down. My friend, Spuro, took me to their home, and fed and housed me. That evening we watched "The Choral". The next morning, when I phoned c. 0920h Canadian Tire had just about finished fixing it. I picked it up about half an hour later (only $400!!), and arrived home about supper time.
