Hike at the Cascades: Oct. 3/10

We spent a sunny afternoon hiking at the Cascades, followed by cups of refreshing lukewarm chocolate. Bishop and Kristian enjoyed chasing each other around and rolling down the hill.

The cast of "The Good Samaritan"

I was the Traveller. Kristian was the robber and dutifully punched me lightly a couple of times. Katie and Bishop were the priest and Levite. Ally was the Bad Samaritan, who walked by (despite being originally cast as the Good Samaritan). So my Mum had to fill in as the Good Samaritan.

Ally and Katie are pouting because they were told to smile.

Bryan and Anne MacLeod's Mojito Madness party combined medical and theatre types. The latter hogged the campfire and the hot tub. Yeah, theatre people!

Rock Steady @ LU Orientation: Sept. 10

You can't see it, but my leather "Christ: King of Peace" guitar strap spent the 1/2 hour set at Clay's (yellow bandana) feet. It served as his 3rd string strap.

Maybe I can't be a good guitarist, but I can help one out.

(Don't suggest practising; that's cheating.)

John & Diane's 50th Wedding Anniversary: Sept. 5/10

Camp Gitchigomee: Sept. 3,4/10

Rose, Jim, Rachel, Stephanie and I had a peaceful overnight at Camp Gitchigomee, consisting mainly of indoor campfires, eating and playing Scrabble.

Canoe Trip Day 4 (Aug. 26/10)

From Larry's itinerary for the day:

Thursday after breakfast we break camp, and start our last leg of the trip . Once we arrive at the takeout we'll have to go and get the van which we left on the Granite River Road. It's about 32km round trip and will take over an hour to complete.

Once everything is packed, we head for home [via a stop at the Stanley Tavern for healthy salads and orange juice].
