Open Mic at Lakehead Beer: May 29/25

I still had a croaky voice, and so my theme was Leonard Cohen songs:

Tower of Song,
Everybody Knows, and
Bird on the Wire.
----------
Anthem, and
Dance Me to the End of Love.

Highlight: (pictured) Matt from Sudbury (jazz guitarist) jamming with some of the regulars.

Alzheimer's Society Walk For Memories: May 24/25

.

Today (May 24/25) I was a busker for the Alzheimer's Society Walk For Memories held on the Chapples Circle Road.

Unfortunately, when the walkers were walking past me, the pipes and drums were still playing nearby, and so I couldn't compete.

But when the walkers came back, as they passed by, I sang all Dylan (for Bob's 84th birthday):

You're Going to Make Me Lonesome When You Go,
Hwy 61 Revisited,
I Want You, and
I Threw It All Away.

Then I went for my free coffee, pizza, and Tim Bits.

I've known the two young drummers in this picture since they were little kiddies at Camp Gitchigomee!

Open Mic at Lakehead Beer: May 22/25

.

My theme was Bob's Birthday (May 24) -- Dylan, not the Pope.

You're Going to Make Me Lonesome When I Go,
Hwy 61 Revisited, and
Every Grain of Sand. ------- I Want You.

Review: due to a cold, my voice was rather croaky (seemed appropriate), but people liked my harmonica playing.

Open Mic at Lakehead Beer: May 15/25

.

Last night (May 15/25) at Lakehead Beer Open Mic my theme was Senior songs (ie Hank Williams Sr.):

I'm So Lonesome I Could Die,
Your Cheatin' Heart,
Hey Good Lookin' Jambalaya!. and my own parody
Cowboy Lament.

Highlights: Kyla (who works for the Tomlin pizza place) jumping up to join Zach,

Harp with Ryan MacDonald on Dancing in the Dark (Springsteen). I was disappointed, though, that on "Hey Baby", Courtney Cox did not appear, so I did her dancing for her.
