Dorion Bible Camp 65th Anniversary: April 29/11

.

A version of The Transparencies (me, Robin & his #1 dgtr) played some of my 80's (approx.) songs as part of a Retro Variety Night to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Dorion Bible Camp. Yes, it did feel a bit odd to be back (sort of), but it was good.

Songs performed:

Mayfly Mush

The Day in the Life of a Mayfly

The Pillow-Fighting Champ of Dorion Bible Camp

I Will Put My Faith in You

Song I Wish We'd Played

Millie!

Mo!

VSW!

I was asked to lead the Camp Song
along with the current bunch of young punks
who lead worship. : )
They play it quite a bit faster than I'm used to!!
Millie again!!

Mo again!!!

Renovations at NPCoC building

.

Melting ice from the roof caused quite a bit of damage to the Northwood Park Church of Christ's washrooms, library and kitchen. This was covered by insurance, but it still took quite a few months to clean up. Toilets were removed in order to replace the tiles, and there was difficulty in putting one back in place. The "Do not use" sign usually stayed on the staff door, but "somebody" moved it for this shot.

Bruce Cockburn: April 6/11

As I type, this set list has not yet been update (despite my emailing them my notes), but we'll see.

It was a great show, but I didn't really expect Bruce to visit with us afterwards. We didn't really have to wait very long before someone said he (and Jenny) had appeared. I didn't believe them at first because, despite being dressed as Bruce had dressed on stage (with the addition of a hat), the guy they pointed at was quite a bit shorter than I expected.

Anyway, I told Bruce how Ruth and I had covered "Tie Me at the Crossroads" -- because I'm able to play it!! "No" I added. "I really like it, too!" I forget exactly what he said, but he expressed appreciation for this.

Bruce Cockburn and Jenny Scheinman

Brian was thrilled to have his LPs autographed.
Now why didn't I think to bring mine?!

Jenny said Shroom had a good handshake.

On Facebook Shroom claims that this is proof that he made Bruce smile.
