Open Mic at Lakehead Beer: July 31/25

My theme was campfire songs:

One Tin Soldier (Dennis Lambert/Brian Potter),
Puff the Magic Dragon (Leonard Lipton/Peter Yarrow), and
The Juicy Moose (trad.).

Highlights: Sam asked me to play harp on a song. As I glanced at the lyrics, I saw it was about a waitress, and briefly wondered whether it was "Unknown Legend". A few seconds later, Jake, a newcomer on stage, began to sing said song!! Whoa! (It was actually "The Road Goes On Forever" by Robert Earl Keen.)

Dongy, after having watched "A Complete Unknown" concluded that Bob was a cool guy, and sang "It Ain't Me, Babe", complete with harp breaks.

After this I went to Norteno's to say hi to Christie who, with her husband, Chris, was in town. We spent most of the time recalling our Cambrian Players' days.

Camp Gitchigomee Intermediate Week 2025

As usual I led music and archery. However, Sam covered for me at campfire on Thursday evening when I had to attend a Muppet Script rehearsal.

Cook Amanda and I introduced "The Man Without" to Gitchigomee. It's been years since I've done it!!
