Old Video Machines to Sally Anne: Sept. 2/16

.

I've had these in my front porch for years & it was time go get rid of them.

My Dad's workplace had these two one-inch video recorders well before home VCRs became common. So he was able to tape some shows from television for us, by setting them up at work.

They were very heavy!!

First, the "small" one:

Next, the "big" one:

Extra in "The Discarded": August 2016

.

I forget which days in August I was an extra in this movie: the first was in a clinic scene, and then in the background at the rebel encampment. When I saw the movie on April 14, 2019, I could see myself, out of focus, in the clinic scenes, but not in the other scenes.

Paddling at Camp G: Aug. 24/16

.

On Aug. 24 & 25 I had to test the drinking water at Camp Gitchigomee for our rental group there. (I've been certified!)

While there I also tested the river water for its paddlability.

Twenty or so of us waited for an hour outside afterwards. Eventually we were lined up to meet Al as he sat on the front steps of his tour bus. We were allowed one autograph and no pictures. I had him autograph a page onto which I'd taped my 1999 and 1996 photos with him. I told him that his commentary for his movie "UHF" is the best commentary ever (seriously it is!).

Here is Mary with her autographed spatula:

A few of my not very good pictures

Here are much better pix by someone named Paul Stuart who sat with my friend, Chris Jason. They'll give you a better idea of the show.

And here are some by Chris Jason (not in chronological order):
