Celebrated a few weeks late (Aug. 23/09). I was at Manitoba Pioneer Camp for the real thing.

MPC Boys One '09 LOTRFOTR Skits

After each breakfast (and at Sunday Chapel) the staff performed a scene from The Fellowship of the Ring. Than someone would talk a bit about how it applied to camp and the rest of life.

This year was very impressive. (Almost) everyone was totally off-book with their lines, and some of the home-made costumes were amazing.

I played the Balrog in the Bridge of Khazad-Dum scene, although I did bear a striking resemblance to Darth Maul. I was off-book. ("Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!")

Day Nine: Tue, Aug. 11/09

Day Eight I was off after lunch (my "half-day"). I spent it visiting the Baileys and my nephew, Greg, in Kenora, including supper at Casey's with friends of theirs.

I arrived back the next morning in time to play the Balrog (aka the Barlog) in the Table Talk LOTRFOTR skit after breakfast.

Day Seven: Aug. 9/09

This is the worship team for Sunday morning chapel: Ophelia, Doitnap and Pinky.

The LOTR skit was "The Council of Elrond" in which an unlikely candidate was chosen. The Bible story was about the unlikely (left-handed) deliverer of Israel, Ehud.

Thu. Aug. 6: Cleaning up after Lazy Man's Perogies (supper the night before),
while prepping "Egg McMuffins" for breakfast (at Spike).

Thu. Aug. 6: Bagels at the end of Dead Man's Portage.

Thu. Aug. 6: Bottles we found at Cochrane. Note the stubbies.
