Open Mic at Lakehead Beer: June 27/24

.

Last night I arrived late at Lakehead Beer for Open Mic (due to Cambrian Players AnnMtg). My theme was still "Day":

Ruby Tuesday (Jagger/Richards), That'll Be the Day (Holly), and another attempt at The Way (Scalzo).

Highlight: We were on the patio. Better sound and atmosphere! Lowlight: I still couldn't get the harmonica part right for The Way.

Another highlight was Cassidy taking a picture of David (Boy Roland) and me with an old-timey disposable camera. I can't show it here, because she'll have to take it to Film Factory & wait for a week.

On Google Earth: June ? 2024

I added this photo Aug. 19, but it was taken in June.

A leader at Pioneer Camp in Aug. was leading a group of campers in a game involving Google Earth. I told them that I should be appearing soon at my Empire/Sprague crossing, and the leader called it up & there I was. Strangely I checked with my app and an old pic with a different guard appeared for me. Even today to get this pic, I started further west on Empire and approached it from there.

Highlight: Guy from Wisconsin pictured below with my guitar, said I had a great voice. Really?
Lowlights: I forgot to capo for The Way, and so my harmonica was the wrong key.
I left my music binder behind.

Another highlight: Today a PSW at Pioneer Ridge said she'd heard my song Free Stanley at open mic a while back, and really liked it! Wow. I didn't think people were listening!

Went to A's gymnastics show at noon, then came over later: A demo'd moves on trampoline, played in backyard with M, E's yearbook, beer, inside for guitar, Uno with A, E, M & K (who won), pasta & salad, tea and arm-wrestling.

M and I built this. She called it her "photo shop".
