Yellow Submarine: April 25/20

.

I watched Yellow Submarine live on Youtube with thousands (millions) of others. When I first watched it back in 1969, I found it too scary.

I still have my Corgi Yellow Sub, which I got on my birthday in 1969.

I still have the mats, one of the cereal bowls, and the hat, too. For that matter, I still have the brother, sister, and mother.

RIP Tetris Blitz: Apr. 22/20

.

April 22/20 My favourite game had its last day yesterday. They warned us a month ago. This was my final score. They had a lot of in-app purchase offers which I ignored entirely. I expect most people did, and the offers were gone for the last month.

I played it every day even though it was clear I was playing against bots, especially in Battles, which I haven't played for months.

Head Shave: April 7/20

.

In social isolation a lot of people are discussing whether to cut their own hair or not. I decided I might as well just go ahead and switch to my summer hairstyle.

I may have been a bit hasty with the razor.

Covid-19 Social Isolation: April 10/20

I made and posted this meme today:

I suppose it's not actually a meme until it actually catches on, so "potential meme".

Because of the need for social isolation, and physical distancing, the Tuesday Night Cheer's Open Mic Crew chose to post songs on-line. April 24: Richard Pepper: Little One

Original Song Day: I've been posting a lot of silliness, feeling relatively untouched by the crises of these days. And yet Portapique has been on my mind.

In this song of mine from c. 1991 written for a friend's 2 year old, I move back & forth between pessimism & hope ("not a safe place" to "run jump & play"). Perhaps those of you with kids of your own have a similar mix of feelings.

A bit of context for why this song came to mind: the little girl & her mother had recently managed to escape from a potential active shooter in A & P right here in Thunder Bay.

The little girl now has 2 kids of her own.

April 25: Sixties Day: Happy Together/Apart (The Turtles)

April 26: Song From the Year I Was Born (1959): Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

April 27: Movie Soundtrack Monday - Feed the Birds (from Mary Poppins)

April 30: Song I Love by a Band I Hate: I'm Not Your Stepping Stone (The Monkees)

Continues here in May.

June songs here.

July songs here.
